In order to guarantee translations that read as though a specialist in that field wrote them, that's exactly what we do. While most translators can translate most documents to an extent that the contents are understandable in another language, it takes real-world experience in that field to be able to convey the technical details in a way that sounds natural and flowing to the target audience.

If a surgeon wrote the original document, and the translation is going to be read by a surgeon, then you are going to want somebody with operating room experience to do the translation in order to ensure that the details are rendered accurately and in the words that surgeons are used to.

In addition to the terminology and the way it is used, high quality translations need to be not only grammatically correct, but also written in good, natural prose. When the translation needs to be as good as it can be, Hyman Translations uses only experienced translators that translate into their mother language.

After the initial translation, the translation is compared with the original to ensure that nothing is added or omitted, and that there are no careless mistakes. Finally, to make sure that it reads naturally and is easily understandable, the translation is read through by somebody who does not have access to the original.

Of course, even with the three stages described above (translation, cross check, final proofing), the client also needs to play an important role in the process. During the translation process, there are often questions that can only be answered by the person who wrote the original. At Hyman Translations we don't guess; we request confirmation from the client as that is the only way to guarantee quality. If the client is not able to reply by the time the translation is due, we submit comments about those places together with the translation.
